
THE TROPICAL TRAVELLER
Day 1: Tuesday (D)
You will be met at the airport or train station and transferred to the Lakes Cairns Resort & Spa. Tonight meet you Traveller representative for a short tour briefing and welcome drink, followed by dinner.
Day 2: Wednesday (BLD)
After breakfast, begin your day heading North following the magnificent coastline. This morning we visit Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures where you will enjoy morning tea and have a chance to see the awesome saltwater crocodile. From here we continue up the coast and head inland to Mossman Gorge. Enjoy a first class lunch in the beautiful rainforest setting of the renowned Daintree Eco Lodge & Spa. After lunch we take a cruise on the Daintree River where the expert guides will point out local wildlife and the wonders of this ancient rainforest. We make a brief stop in Port Douglas before returning to the Resort.
Day 3: Thursday (BLD)
After breakfast you will begin your journey to the village of Kuranda aboard the world famous Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, travelling above the rainforest canopy. Once in the village you will have time to explore the local Heritage Markets, visit the amazing Birdworld and enjoy lunch in one of the local restaurants. We then make our way back to Freshwater Station via the Kuranda Scenic Railway, winding its way through the hand hewn tunnels of the late 1800’s, taking in some spectacular views on the way down. Your coach will then transfer you back to the Resort.
Day 4: Friday (BLD)
Today you visit the world heritage listed Great Barrier Reef. Travelling via a high speed catamaran you will be transported to the Outer Reef pontoon where you will have 3 hours to enjoy the wonders of the reef. Included in your day is morning and afternoon tea, snorkelling equipment, a reef education presentation, a semi submersible coral reef viewing tour, the underwater observatory, a full hot and cold buffet lunch and a guided Eco Reef talk. Upon return to Cairns you will be transferred back to the Resort.
Day 5: Saturday (B)
Breakfast today is at your leisure with a free day to explore Cairns. Perhaps visit Rusty’s Markets, the locals market, or take in an art gallery, the Royal Flying Doctors museum. The Botanical Gardens are within walking distance of the Resort and offer a great cafe for lunch, morning or afternoon tea or just spend the day relaxing at the Resort.
Day 6: Sunday (B)
After breakfast perhaps enjoy a game of golf at one of the many courses, a game of bowls or visit the tranquil setting of Palm Cove on the beautiful Northern Beaches.
Day 7: Monday (BLD)
After breakfast you will take a scenic drive up the Gillies Range to Lake Barrine, a prehistoric volcano – now a deep fresh water lake. Enjoy the famous Devonshire tea at the Old Teahouse before embarking on a wildlife cruise on the Lake. From here you will visit the giant Curtain Fig Tree, and Millaa Millaa Falls before enjoying lunch at the picturesque Mungalli Falls. After lunch we head to MaMu Canopy Boardwalk nestled high above the Rainforest canopy. Then it’s onto Paronella Park, the romantic Spanish Castle ruins. Tonight enjoy a scrumptious farewell dinner at the Resort.
Day 8: Tuesday (B)
Breakfast this morning is at your leisure before being transferred to the airport or railway station for your onward journey.
