THE TROPICAL TRAVELLER

Day 1: Tuesday (D)
On your arrival into Cairns you will be met and transferred to The Lakes Cairns Resort and Spa. Tonight, enjoy a special welcome drink and dinner in Rambutan Restaurant.

Day 2: Wednesday (BLD
Today follow the magnifi cent coastline from Cairns to the Daintree, where the Coral Sea meets the dense rainforest mountains. At Hartley's Crocodile Adventures, take a cruise in search of the awesome saltwater crocodile. At Mossman Gorge, take a guided rainforest discovery walk, then learn about the local history at the Mossman Sugar Mill. Enjoy a fi rst class lunch in a beautiful rainforest setting at Daintree Eco Lodge and a cruise on the Daintree River, followed by a stop at the fishing village come tourist town of Port Douglas.

Day 3: Thursday (BLD)
We begin our journey to Kuranda aboard the world famous Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, offering views into the fascinating forest canopy. Kuranda Village offers us time to explore the Heritage Markets and visit Birdworld, which is home to a huge variety of Australia's tropical birds. After lunch we board the Kuranda Scenic Rail, which winds over waterfalls and through hand hewn tunnels from the late 1800's.

Day 4: Friday (BLD)
Today we visit Green Island, located on the Great Barrier Reef, the world's greatest reef system. Arriving by luxury cruiser, you will discover the white coral sand beaches of the cay are surrounded by reef, teaming with fi sh and colourful coral, with the chance to snorkel or view from a glass bottom boat. Green Island has some great visitor facilities making it a very comfortable location to enjoy the reef.

Day 5: Saturday (B)
Enjoy breakfast at leisure. A free day to discover Cairns, maybe visit Rusty's Markets, an Art Gallery, Royal Flying Doctors, the Botanical Gardens, or just relax at your resort. Tonight, why not experience one of Cairns local restaurants, or sample the fare at the resorts own 5 star restaurant, Lago (own expense).

Day 6: Sunday (B)
Enjoy breakfast at leisure. Perhaps enjoy one of Cairns fantastic golf courses, or a game of bowls, visit Palm Cove or another of our beautiful northern beaches. Tonight, dinner is at your leisure (own expense). If you would like to discover more of our area over the weekend, The Lakes Resort can book local tours and attractions for you. Contact reception for details.

Day 7: Monday (BLD)
Today begins with a scenic drive up the Gillies Range, to Lake Barrine a prehistoric volcano cone, now a deep fresh water lake. Devonshire Tea at the old Teahouse before we board the Wildlife Cruise. We visit the famous Giant Curtain Fig Tree, the quaint Millaa Millaa Falls, then enjoy lunch at picturesque Mungalli Falls, before arriving at the romantic Paronella Park Spanish Castle ruins. Our farewell dinner tonight is in Rambutan Restaurant.

Day 8: Tuesday (B)
Breakfast at leisure. Today you will be transferred to Cairns Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey.
