
THE WESTERN TRAVELLER
Day 1: Tuesday (D)
On your arrival into Perth, you will be met and transferred to the Esplanade Hotel
Fremantle. Tonight, enjoy dinner and a welcome drink in the Atrium Garden
Restaurant.
Day 2: Wednesday (BD)
A tour through the heart of the city where you will hear stories about the early
settlement of the area, take in views of Swan River, and visit Fremantle. Cruise
back to Perth enjoying a wine tasting and the amazing views. After lunch (own
expense) we enjoy an afternoon in the Swan Valley, visit Sandalford Wines for
a tasting, indulge at the Margaret River Chocolate Factory, then stop at a wine
and nougat boutique, and visit Caversham Wildlife Park. Dinner at local icon,
Cicerello's, for a two course seafood dinner.
Day 3: Thursday (BLD)
Today we drive past Pearce Air Force Base and through the orange growing
district of Bindoon before reaching New Norcia, home to Australia's only
Benedictine Abbey. Learn of the intriguing culture and history of the community,
and have the chance to purchase local goods including olive oil or fruit wine,
before we head north to the Western Wildfl ower Farm. After lunch we travel
onto the Nambung National Park, home of the Pinnacles Desert. Here your
guide will take you for an easy paced walk through parts of this moon like
landscape of thousands of limestone columns.
Day 4: Friday (B)
Today is a free day to discover Fremantle. Perhaps visit the Fremantle Prison or
Maritime Museum, home of Australia II (own expense).
Day 5: Saturday (BL)
Travel south to the Margaret River Region, known as one of Australia's fi nest
wine producing areas. We visit Xanadu Winery, enjoy tastings from their range
and lunch in their award winning restaurant. We then explore Mammoth Cave's
limestone formations and fossils, and travel to Busselton Jetty, the longest timber
jetty in the southern hemisphere, and break for a light dinner (own expense).
Arriving back to Fremantle at approximately 9.30 pm.
Day 6: Sunday (B)
Enjoy breakfast at leisure. A free day and the chance to relax, hunt for bargains at
the famous Fremantle Markets, or perhaps visit one of the nearby beaches.
Day 7: Monday (BLD)
Today you have the chance to step back in time as you wander about the historic
streets of Rottnest Island and visit the island's museum. Your will discover
numerous salt lakes, the Wadjemup Lighthouse, glorious sandy beaches and
some of the most beautiful bays you will ever see. You will have the chance to
visit quokka habitats and swim or snorkel in the warm waters around the island.
This evening, a farewell dinner in Café Panache at the hotel.
Day 8: Tuesday (B)
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before your transfer to Perth Airport.
